Significance - The Sarah Series

Janet Goodchild-Cuffley's daughter, Sarah, tragically took her own life in July, 2001, following a brief mental illness. Goodchild-Cuffley created the Sarah Series in 2002 and 2003, exploring issues surrounding Sarah's illness, and how to live with deep, abiding grief and loss.

The series comprises eleven small oil paintings, nine watercolours, four non-figurative pastel drawings and two larger figurative charcoal works. Most of these works can be viewed in the pages below.
